My name is Katy Emerson and I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with considerable experience supporting people to manage and resolve their psychological and emotional distress.

I have previously worked for a local NHS Primary Care Mental Health Support Service (PCMHSS) and within the NHS England Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services, delivering time-limited, evidence-based therapy for adults (16+) experiencing mild to severe common mental health difficulties.

I am trained in and have previously supported individuals experiencing a range of difficulties including specific phobias, panic, general anxiety, health anxiety, depression, stress, social anxiety, trauma (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder and long-term physical health conditions, amongst other difficulties.

I have additionally worked as a Senior Lecturer at a local university, leading and teaching on a MSC/PgDip in CBT. I continue to work as an Hourly Paid Lecturer (HPL) delivering teaching and marking academic work and I supervise on a BABCP Level 2 Accredited course.
